SE-MA-NO ELECTRIC REBATE PROGRAM

For electric water heaters, the rebate will only apply for the replacement of an existing unit for a new higher efficiency unit. The efficiency of the replacement unit must be rated at least .90. Rebate amount: $50.00

For a room air conditioning units and the rebate will apply for the purchase of a new Energy Star unit or the replacement of an existing unit with a new Energy Star Unit. Rebate amount: $50.00

For clothes washers and dishwashers, the rebate will apply upon replacement of an existing unit with a new Energy Star unit and only if electric water heating is used. Rebate amount: Clothes Washer $100.00 Dishwasher $50.00

For ground source heat pumps, the rebate will only apply for the replacement of Electric Resistance Heat or New Home Construction. Electric backup heat will be allowed for ground source heat pump units. The ground source heat pump will be installed with a Delta T of 80 and a SEER of 14. A Manual J calculation will be used to support the Delta T. Backup heat will be separated from the ground source unit by either a breaker or a two stage thermostat. The home owner shall have a minimum of R-38 insulation in the ceiling and a minimum of R-13 present in the walls. Rebate amount: $750.00 per ton

For air source heat pumps, the rebate will only apply in the replacement of electric resistance heat or on a new home construction. The air source heat pump must use propane or natural gas for backup heat. Rebate amount: $150.00 a ton

To qualify for the rebate, the appliance must be in Se-Ma-No Electric service territory and verify that the unit being replaced meets the criteria for this program. The structure in which the customer resides must be a permanent structure on a foundation on land owned by the member.
