Capital Credits

Se-Ma-No Electric is a non-profit corporation. No stock is sold or dividends declared, any excess revenue over operating expenses (net margin) belongs to the members who provided that margin by purchasing electricity. Every year this is credited to the capital account of each member in proportion to their purchases. When the financial position of the Cooperative permits, these credits are refunded. Refunds are regulated by terms of the mortgage held by the Rural Utility Service.

Se-Ma-No sent out close to $450,000 in Patronage Capital Checks for the years 1964-1971 in November 2008. The following is a list of those returned to the office after being undeliverable. This is why it is important that if you move off our system you keep us updated with a current address. If you see your name below, you may come by the office and claim your check. If you see deceased family member and are the Heir At Law, Executor, Administrator or Surviving Joint Tenant you will be asked to sign an affidavit and have it notarized in the office.
